About Marcus Mosiah Garvey
Jamaican born, Marcus Mosiah Garvey(1887-40) was a proponent of the Black Nationalism and Pan-Africanism movements. Marcus Garvey inspired Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the first President of Ghana. The Black Star in Ghana flag is taken from Marcus Garvey's UNIA Organization. Nkrumah's Black Star Line Shipping company was a direct copy of Marcus Garvey's shipping Company. Nkrumah's efforts to have a United States of Africa was inspired by Marcus Garvey's belief in a united African Continent government, army, foreign policy and official language. Ghana is known as the 'Black Stars' which is a phrase made popular by Marcus Garvey. So, In Ghana these are the facts that needs to be highlighted when promoting The Marcus Mosiah Garvey Foundation (MMGF)

is a Non-profit organization dedicated to honoring the esteemed Rt. Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey, a titan of history whose vision continues to inspire generations. Our foundation is dedicated to translating his visionary ideals into tangible action, particularly through focused youth development programs and projects. At the MMG
Foundation, we take a proactive approach to youth development.
Through a combination of educational initiatives, mentorship programs, and community engagement, we provide young people with the tools they need to succeed academically, professionally, and personally. Marcus Garvey empathized the need to give young people practical skills that they can use to support themselves and their families thus becoming self-reliant. This is one of the main aims of the MMGF.
